Jamie Foxx ‘s journey ‘to hell and back’

Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx has opened up on the mysterious health issue that had him hospitalised back in April…

Actor Jamie Foxx was filming on the set of Back in Action in Atlanta back in April when he was rushed to hospital after experiencing a ‘medical complication. And the star has revealed that the terrifying experience ‘took him to hell and back’.

Jamie Foxx was very open about his illness on a recent Instagram video

Rumours soon followed about exactly what was going on, as Foxx’s friends and family kept details of his illness a secret.

But the African-American actor has lifted the lid on his scary experience, with a video posted to his own Instagram page, talking for the first time since he was discharged about exactly what went down.

It was, says Foxx, something he never imagined going through, adding that he didn’t want to scare fans by going into details of his illness, especially during his hairier moments.

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that, man – I want you to see me laughing, having a good time partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show”, he said in the candid video. ‘I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through’.

Feeing the love for his family for the support they gave him during his rollercoaster ride to recovery, he continued:

‘My sister Deidra Dixon, my daughter Corinne Marie, saved my life. To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video. I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y’all know they kept it air-tight, they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these.’

He also slammed fake rumours including that he went blind and was paralysed – but did admit it had been ‘a long road’.

We’re sorry he’s had such a rough ride, but we’re sure glad he’s back with us. Stay well, Mr Foxx.
